The steward

What the steward buys, what he sells, and the price of freedom.

Every manor's steward stands in its court. Click him with an empty hand to see what he buys and sells; click him holding wood to sell it.

When he has enough, he points you to another manor. A free man is paid half as much again. Breaking part of his manor costs you 3 öre, kept from your next pay there.

The big order of the day

Each manor has one big order a day, shown over its court: 40 planks (planks for the new granary floor); 60 pieces of firewood (firewood for the brewhouse: they brew tomorrow); 24 logs (logs to mend the cattle barn before winter). Everything of that kind sold to the steward counts. When it's filled, a bonus of 0.5 öre for each one ordered is shared by how much each person brought. Filled orders grow next time, missed ones shrink.

Freedom

The lord never sells a serf his freedom. Save 4 riksdaler and walk to Reval, where the town clerk writes you into the town book as a free man. See the freedom guide.

Hunger

You go from full to empty in about an hour of play (only while you're in the game). Below 35 you're hungry: you hit at 70% and jobs take 30% longer. Below 10 you're starving. A loaf of rye bread fills 45.
